    Information is recognised as a valuable commodity and yet everyday we witness it being given away or inadequate attempts to prevent its theft.

    Vetting

    A recent survey indicates that 85% of fraud is employee related. One leading firm of accountants is on record as saying "60% of all reported fraud is committed by employees with over 5 years service."

    It is rare that a check of an applicant's CV is made. It is almost unheard of for an employee to be vetted on promotion. It makes sense to screen a potential employee and even more sense to screen an employee as they advance to senior and more sensitive posts.

    We can provide this service for you and advise you how to adapt your application forms and employment contracts to comply with the Data Protection Act 1998 or outside of the UK with the European Directive.
    Auditing

    Most lapses in security are because of outdated systems and a lack of security culture: e.g. CCTV cameras which are not pointing at the target area because of buffeting by the weather; perimeter fencing that has holes in it; strangers on premises not being asked for their identity etc.

    Our security survey will address these and other issues.

    We will advise on best security practice and help you prepare a security policy for your company. We can provide in-house training to educate your staff. We then perform periodic audits of the revised system.

    Our surveys are not meant to embarrass, but to educate. We feel that the best way to introduce a system is by knowledge and understanding. That way ownership will be shared by everyone.
